Black Screen When Coming Out Of Hibernation

A problem just started happening about 2 weeks ago with my screen when coming out of hibernation. I have a m1-atx power supply and is set to hiubernate my computer when ever I turn off my car. Sometimes when coming out of hibernation, I am left with a black screen after it boots back up into Windows. The bios screen displays and so does the resuming windows screen but after that, it just turns black and stays like that. And also, if I wait long enough becasue I dont feel like going into my trunk to reset my computer (reset button isnt put in yet becasue Im lazy and now its too cold to work on it in my driveway) the screen would magically work again. Touchscreen works fine though even when theres no display. My setup is:

Lilliput 7" touchscreen
Windows XP Pro
M1-ATX
Road Runner
MII 12000 motherboard

One more thing I forgot to say. After resetting the computer the screen displays fine too.
I think I have an idea on what the problem is though but not quite sure if it is it. It all started to happen when I changed my resolution from 800x600 to 848x480. If anyone has any ideas please help. Thanks

I had this on a home computer a while back.. I think I remember reinstalling the video drivers. I don't remember the whole thing being a big deal, otherwise I'd remember what I did for sure. I'm thinking it's drivers, cuz that's the first thing that comes to mind.

Sorry for such a vague response, hopefully this points you in the right direction.

Yup sounds like the VGA drivers as hibernation functionality is related directly to the VGA drivers, if the wrong drivers are installed then hibernation never works fully, if at all.

I get this as well. I find turn the ignition off and on again and it works fine. I think it relates to the amount of time between the screen getting power and the VGA mode being engaged.

I don't lose sleep over it.

Actually I just figured out the problem while messing with it while driving (which was very dumb). The screen displays fine if im not in road runner. Works after hibernation everytime. I think its becasue the skin im using ,which is zots, is 800x600 and I had to change the resolution in the general.ini file for the skin. So im seeing if I can just use potoshop or paint to resize the whole skin completly and see if that works. Ill let you guys know. Thanks for the posts

Sometimes mine is fixed by turning the screen off and on again with the remote, seems to help it lock a fresh onto the refresh rate?!?

Many peeps think many things about these issues - Bottom line is all these 7" TFT LCD screens are ****e because their manufacturers never envisiged them being used as they are being used!!!! And no one expected people actually wanting to use 800x480...

Who'd be stupid enough to want a PC in a car anyway? they're bad enough where they are supposed to be! In the office - Never mind anything else

I did figure out a temporary fix for it. After it boots back into road runner and the screen is still black. I can just minimize road runner to get back into the windows desktop and the screen would come on again. So, I do really think that its the program road runner thats not working right for me.
