Fried Lilliput Egg - No Video, Just Vga

OK, here's one for all you Lilliputians out there. I fried my egg trying out the 7" 619 touchscreen, and now the video no longer works, but VGA is fine. As a matter of fact, power LED goes off when I connect the video (USB-like) cable, and back on when it is disconnected. (This was working originally on mains (240v AC) power.)

Questions:
1) Is the power connector on the video cable the same as powering through the case? Are they redundant?
2) Do I need to power the video input seperately to VGA?
3) Should I be able to get both VGA and video by simply switching between them (A/V switch), and using the case barrel plug jack?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I don't think the egg has anything to do with this. Sounds more like a short of some kind which, in turn, fried the egg.

I'm not sure, I think the "USB" power input and the case power input are electrically identical.

No, case power input will do.

Yes. I remember testing VGA and video while powering my lilli the normal way, i.e. through the case power input. Open up your lilli and check the board for any shorts, especially near the "USB" connector.

Hope this helps -- good luck!
