PSone screen up and running, questions for csync converter users

Thanks to members such as Starfox, MatrixPC, Tidder - I have my Sony NTSC PSone screen up and running.

I'm using nForce built in Geforce 4 MX graphics and a hsync/vsync to csync converter posted by MatrixPC. I'm running powerstrip on Arcade.

BUT I can only get around 12.5mhz pixel clock. Above that it gets screwy with grey horizontal lines. At 12.5 it looks like horizontal items (menu bars, etc...) flicker or are a bit wavy.

What kind of FONT optimization are people using and any popular skins for Roadrunner? Brushed metal and Alpine both have fonts that seem to thin to get lost on a 5" 640x480 screen.

Also what about the extra grounds in the VGA cable? There is an uninsulated ground (shell?) in the cable and I'm not sure if it drops the shielding to ground. Are there any special wires for monitor detect? Mine worked with powerstrip swap, but then on reboot its black again so I don't know if the resolution change "didn't take" because of a lack of monitor detect.

Thanks!!
