once again the lines on screen

Ok, for the past week everyday i have been trying to fix this problem. And i didnt want to make anyone angry for posting this again becasue i have seen it on a couple other theads but here it is. ( Its my last hope )

Ill explain what i have first. I built a computer its like a 733, 512 ram in the back of the car. I have a inverter runnoing from the battery ( inverter is 400 watt ). From there i plug the power supply for the computer in. the pwer supply is 200 watt. on the video card of the computer i have the svideo to rca. from there i have a extender male to male that goes to the screen. The screen is a power acoustic. everything is working except these damn lines. It almost looks like a grounding issue but also a interferance issue.

I have the screen grounded to the car, also the power inverter is grounded again, and the power supply for the computer is grounded. the computer isnt even in a case right now, just to make things easyier.

I have tryed powering the computer from running a chord out of the house, and its alittle better but still has those lines. I have tryed powering the SCREEN from another car battery, alittle better but the lines are still there.

ive tryed moving the cable around haha but the lines still stay.

There fast moving lines

any thoughts? im desperate right now, and if someone gives me the answer that fixes it i will personally send $20 paypal.

And i have seen people post pictures of using power supplys, and inverters that have worked, so please dont just respond and say to get a opus, and get rid of the inverter

i will in the future.

I can not see the lines but this does not sound out of the ordinary for running a single composite line (depending on how bad these lines are)

If the screen is VGA i would suggest tring a VGA line and see if there is a improvement.

VGA is the 15 pin cable that you use between most monitors and video cards

I think the VGA Line is the cable you connect from the video card to the Screen

out of the screen is a rca, and from that it goes to the video card which is svideo to rca

Does your screen have VGA on it? If so (as Alti said) use VGA rather than RCA.

it doesnt have VGA on it. So basically the only way to get this to work is to buy another screen?

rca\composite \ svideo is known to have poor image quality, if it looks fuzzy or the lines are smallish and moving, it is likely becuase you are using RCA.

Try another rca line to see if it is the cable, but you will not get a good picture without a vga screen.

I have this problem and I have a vga screen (K90) and am using the vga line.

The lines change when I rev the engine. I grounded the screen to the car and no difference, and my psu is an m2-atx. I haven't tried powering the screen from the m2 itself....is this normally needed?

If you read the instructions for a lot of the screens it specifically states to use a regulated power supply for the screen.

I run all of mine from the PC power supply.

how do I run it off the pc power supply if it is an m2-atx? cut into the atx power cable?

The screen runs fine until windows boots, no lines on the tv, just the vga.
I have grounded the pc to the car, and tried increasing the cbale size but that made no difference.

i hear ya man. been having the same issue. about to try the running from m2 fix.
Nothing else has worked. Boots fine...but once in windows starts acting up.
Keep me informed if you get it working for you.
I did read somewhere on the forums that running it from a separate power
source can cause intereference so running from the m2 should do it.

yeah thats what I have been reading. going to give it a go in a few days when I get time...will let you know.

Just need to work out which wire goes to which on the morex connectors and decide if I need to run the acc to the ignition or both power cables to the morex!
