LCD Mount

Hey guys I got a 7" Lilli and will eventually mold it into my dash. Until I do I want a temporary fix. I found this http://qualitymobilevideo.com/Mercha..._Code=FLX16SCR
it seems like a good way to mount the screen without having to drill holes on anything. Anyone have any other solutions?

Those goose necks suck major ***. I had one in my truck. screen always moved, even on nice smooth roads. Damn thing weighs more than a 7" screen, and is a ***** to flex. Once you get it shaped, there is so much slop in it, that just looking at it made the screen move. Not to mention the issues when trying to use the touch screen.
My advice: do not buy. Also, you can buy that same part from a different seller for 28.00
good luck, there are better mounting solutions available.

Side note: is this cleverly disguised spam???

Have you considered the small mount that uses double sided tape? you could remove the tape and use velcro for a removeable mounting option. Might sound ghetto, but it would be stable enough to use without getting ****ed off, and would be minimally invasive to your dash. Just a thought...

Yeah I thought about it. My PC will be held by industrial velcro. It might not be a bad idea for the monitor, but it will probably look like crap. I thought about getting one of these screw in wall mounts and just use velco to attach it on the side of the dash on the passanger side. Just need to find the right mount and see what the weight limit is on the velcro. Im going to Home Depot this weekend for the velcro.

i just had this idea too 10 min ago (while taking a shower)

Doing this gives many advantages over IN DASH mounting:

- You can hide the screen somewhere like behind the seat or in the glove box quickly
- You can precisely define the position of the screen
- no hard work required
- you can use bigger screen (in dash is limited to 7" i believe)

I will do some research during this week and get back here with my finding

(i ride VW as well )
