Who owns the EarthVue 12 Monitor??

HI. Thanks for reading. I'm excited to get this far in doing my own computer install. I think this unit will fit my needs which are, I want to go big, I want good details for GPS, OBDII, and DVD play. I would have like to just drop in a 15inch but hey, who has the room.

So, a couple of questions if you do own such a LCD Screen;

I like the price though not to sure if 180 Nit screen is workable.

How would you rate the quality and how did you go about the mount or install.

Or, any other advise on this size screen for normal 15pin hookup.

Thanks for reading.

I have two of them. The brightness is fine inside my car and at night I actually had to enable the dimmer to lower the brightness a little bit.

I also use one on my desk. The one in the car is in their enclosure with a ball mount of the kind used on boats. It has an elo touchsystems surface wave touchscreen on it which works very well.

They have been nice to deal with too.

I recommend this screen without hesitation.

On the subject of GPS, I use a mac, but running a windows program called Co-Pilot by using an emulator called VirtualPC. Quite a show seeing windows running in a window on the mac desktop while a mac mp3 player runs in the background. The windows programs work fine with the touchscreen too..

Thank you Wally. This was what I was looking for. I'll give them a call in a few weeks.

That's a Great idea on the mount. I was wanting to originally cut out my dash and stereo in the camaro. Now I'm thinking I can get away with doing a mount coming up from the floor on the side with a swivel of some sort to move it around and out of the way of the heater controls if needed. The radio controls are in the steering wheel anyway but with the help of the D-link USB radio, I think I'll just run the fm tuner off of the computer anyway. With your information on a boat mount, I think I'll be hitting up some of the boat stores here in the Newport area and see what I can find!! Again, thanks for your post. //

wally, I have the earth 12.1. Uh, how do you lower the the brightness? It's ok, I wish it had more control of the buttons. I need to use a pencil eraser to change the settings.. Getting it installed in the car tomorrow..
Also, the brightness changes on the angle that you look at.
Oh one more question. are you running the unit right from the 12V from your car or are you using anything?

Thanks.//
