hi.. i was trying to install a 7in retractable lcd ... i was going to use a ps2 as a dvd player... and i was gonna use my alpine as regular cd/radio ... so i was wondering how i can install these two together because.. the lcd has it's own set of wire harness... i tried wiring them together.. it worked the first time... then i tried to turn off my alpine and both of them turned off and ceased to work again.. lol.. i checked the fuses, wasnt blown... help would be appreciated

the only problem I see with your setup is how you choose to route the audio from each device to the speakers. As far as hooking up the power, that should be no problem, PS2 will require an inverter, the screen and the headunit should be 12 volts, and should be fused on the positive side. I would wire them separately so you wont overload the fuse for the radio. If your headunit has a line in, which a lot of higher end headunits have you can run the audio from the PS2 to that... If your headunit does not have line in, you'll need some other way of switching from the radio to the ps2, which i'm sure are available, but you'd probably be better off just selling the headunit and buying a new one.. Its better to spend a few more bux and take a little more time and do things the right way the first time, instead of spending double to fix a bandaid later down the road.

well after checking every fuse... the clock fuse was poped... and i replaced it... it seemed to be the problem... but then again the clock has nv worked b4... but i got the lcd screen for free... my friend gave it to me because the dvd player was messed up... so that's why i plan to use the ps2... i have the inverter... well to cut the long story short... i want to use my alpine for cd/mp3 use and the lcd/ps2 for radio/dvds/games/ and tv tuner eventually later.. i have all the components.. just.. have problems... rememeber wut wires went to what..

I'm assuming when you say ps2 you mean a playstation 2.. I dont own one or have used one much but I did not know they were capable of radio and tv..
Your best bet is going to be save your money, buy the right things, do it the right way.. you should probably spend some time reading through the threads here to learn about the many different approaches to achieve your end result. Good luck
