Question about lilliput. Can i extend these wires?
i need to extend these wires cause i need to lay the controller flat (thanks to the stupid 8" bottom connector. Any problems with me just cutting them and adding a lil 12ga. wire? I'd only need about 6" or so. I just dont want to cut the wires and find out there like rca or some funky wire.

yes, there is a big problem! those are AC Voltage wires, not standard wire.
you need to use the correct wire type, and splices need to be soldered and covered with UL approved heat shrink, or electrical tape.
If you have an old lcd panel laying around, scavange the wire from the backlight.
otherwise, I highly recommend you purchase the correct supplies needed to extend those wires.

Ok, what is the correct wire type exactly?

available in white and pink. you can use either or. no need to buy both colors, they are the same AWG.
use heatshrink tubing, to cover the solder splices.
this wire is high voltage rated, and is silicone.

Thanks for your help. So i purchase this wire. Cut the connectors at the connector solder in these and use heatshrink tubing and we're fine and good? I assume once i've unplugged the lilli from the ac adapter there's no risk of shock right?

listen though 800 v ac ain't no thang, depends all on current. after seeing a guy last week fly 20 feet from touching something with 8v and 200a (no he magically didnt die just blew a hole out the bottom of his boot, i would say no worries.
all you have to do is get the correct wire it looks like 16 gauge wire to me. wire type only matters when running it long distance due to internal resistance of the wires. Hopefully you know how to solder however if you don't you can call me and i can step you threw setting the temp, using flux, all the shenanigans.
you should be fine if you make the correct union on the wires and don't get crazy trying to run to high of a current. the best thing i would do is get an amprobe and power it up place it over the wire and take the reading from there, but if money is an issue to buy one then try home depot for a multimeter (15 bucks) and i can step you through testing safely.

correct. make sure the lilli is unplugged, then disconnect the backlight connector like you have shown. Cut the wires and solder in the added length you need. Allow at least 1" from the connector if possible so you have enough room to solder.
Be sure to use the wire I referenced, and Not regular wire.
A regular piece of wire is only rated for 125 volts. True, the amp draw on the backlights is not that high, but the voltage is over 500 v AC. This will fry a regular pc. of wire in no time flat. You need the high voltage wire, with silicone sheathing to guarantee you won't have issues.
side note: the AWG size of your wire is 24awg. The reason it looks larger in your pictures is the fact that the silicone cover is thicker than regular pvc that regular wires have.
good luck, and please spend the few $$ on the right wire.

I am not sure what wire works but I use regular wire and it has been fine for the pass 2 years.
BTW, it's not a lilliput but a modded PSone screen instead.
And you can only extend for a very SHORT distance.

i wont even need it as long as yours there. Just enough to lay the damn board flat.

You really are playing with fire there.
As Motorcity said, you have several hundred volts there. The higher the voltage, the easier it is for the current to jump a gap. You really should be using a wire with a thicker insulator.
1BadRbt, what were the conditions when your friend got zapped by 8V? As most of us know, even the 12V of a car battery, which is capable of delivering hundreds of amps, doesn't have the potential (voltage) to overcome the high resistance of the human body (in normal conditions) enough to give you a tingle.
