Question Anbody with experience on this Valor DVD?

I'm looking to get a double din lcd/dvd/tv unit for my 06 WRX...does anybody have experience with this brand?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

I'm looking to be around $600 so if anyone has suggestions, i'd appreciate it. The only feature this doesn't have that I would like is a touch screen...

Actually it is missing one other feature (might not be important to you at all) and that is DivX support. : )

BTW, in your searching have you ever come across an LCD in this format that also does VGA with a touchscreen (at any price?) I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't find one.

I decided to go a different route and purchased a motorized single DIN LCD with VGA/TS and a single DIN DVD/CD/VCD/DivX/MP3/FM/AM etc... reciever. Both for just under $600 shipped.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question directly!

Hmmm...Excuse me for asking this but isn't DivX just a copied DVD format?

I'm not sure what you mean by VGA, but I would prefer a touch screen. I'm leaning towards the Jensen double din player. The only drawback i see on this one is that there is no nav hookup. It seems that there is no double din, with nav hookup that is touch screen with a tv tuner built in...I don't like the single din since I think it would make my dash look empty...This is the Jensen:

DivX is just a computer video format (AVI.) The video itself could be a copied DVD movie, or it could be your kid's soccer game. It is just a video format. A very popular format with incredible compression. Nothing benevolently intrinsic about it. : ) Unless you are thinking of the Divx DVD format that circuit city tried to push several years ago and bombed miserably. That was just pure evil!

But anyway, with the DivX capability I can just through a bunch of AVIs in DivX format on a CD or DVD and watch them in the car. For example, right now I have all seasons of "The Family Guy" (a mature cartoon show in the US, if you are not familiar) in there on one DVDROM.

By VGA (RGB) I meant you can hook your carpc up to it and the touchscreen would work on the computer. You might be referring to this a the "nav hookup."

Also, my setup doesn't make the dash look empty because I am using 2 single DIN units in a double DIN spot. The LCD and the DVD player are separate units. I would have preferred the one double DIN unit like you are looking at, but being able to hook it up to the computer and having a touchscreen were the most important features for me and like I said I couldn't find one that did it. You might want to search around the forums for pics of others' installs as quite a few people have done it this way as well. If you are not planning to hook up a computer in your car, then none of this is relevant to you at all.

I wasn't planning on doing any computer stuff. I did however see the kenwood ddx8017...Does anyone think it's worth shelling out the extra money for this model over the ddx7017? The link I have attached also has a chart comparison...
