Help! Lilliput changed input, I am missing buttons
When I installed my 8" Lilliput, I molded it into my dash, and then I set it up for VGA input, and programmed it using the remote to auto-power on. Since it was always powering on, and always powering up to the VGA input, I un-plugged the circuit board that contains the buttons and IR sensor. I recently have been having a power problem where my powersupply won't supply enough power at startup to run all of my devices. So I have been popping the fuse out of the Lilliput "egg" (or box in the case of the 8") until the PC boots up, then putting the fuse back in, allowing the screen and all the devices (and the screen) to be running while the computer is on. This morning, I did that, but when the screen came up (usually with "VGA MODE") with "VIDEO-1", then s small green and white box saying "C-VIDEO no input". I believe the screen switched from auto-sensing the VGA input to auto-sensing the composite input. Since I no longer have the buttons or IR eye attached to the screen (it got thrown out) is there any way to switch it back to VGA? Does anyone have a broken 8" lilliput I can buy the button circuit board from? Please help! Thanks!

You could just short out the pin for switching with the gnd or +V, but yu would need to know which ones they are.

Thankfully Armen at DigitalWW hooked me up. apparently the control signals sent by the button boards between the 7" and the 8" are alike. So i'm getting a 7" button board from him so I can change the input. Since i am using the screen without it's enclosure (molded in) I can just tape it to the driver board in case this happens again.

okay, I recieved a 7" Liliput button board from Armen @ DigitalWW, and I tried it this morning. I still cannot get into the menu with it. The monitor powers on, I see a green "VIDEO 1" that pops up at the top left of the display, then a green and white box in the middle of the screen saying "C-video, no input" i've pressed all the buttons on the button board, and nothing happens. The only indication I have that it is hooked up correctly, is the center two buttons when pressed, cause a amber LED an the end of the board to illuminate. No other button presses do anything. I made sure the ribbon cable was well seated at both ends, and no change. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do before i am forced to buy a new panel? Thanks.

doesnt sound like it's the right board, because you should get a red light on the end of that little pcb when the screen is in standby, then it should turn green when powered on. You should be able to turn it off and on, it's not doing that then that PCB is not compatiable.
But make sure you have the ribbon seated all the way towards the middle of the button pcb. it shouldnt be in the middle of the connector.

Could you be a little more specific? I don't understand what you mean by "it shouldnt be in the middle of the connector"

The connector on the button PCB, most of them are bigger than the actual ribbon cable.
See in the attached picture how there is a gap between the ribbon and the left side of the connector?

No, I never did get this to work... I ended up buying a new LCD. I do have the 7" button board with ribbon that he sent me. Where are you located? If it doesn't cost too much to ship, I could send it to you & maybe it could fix your problem.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me. It's not the button board. The monitor just won't go into VGA mode... I guess I'll have to buy a new monitor if you never figured it out Nobody seems to have any ideas at all on this problem. I know it wasn't my buttons that kept it from switching, I've reseated the ribbon cable 100 times and it is the original buttons for the monitor. It's something wrong in the monitor, but I have no clue what.
