720 x 480 on 8" Lilli is sweet!

I installed the intel embedded drivers today to replace the default drivers for my 915GM chipset. This driver works with most of the intel mobile chipsets.

It offered 600 x480, 720 x 480, 800 x 600 and a variety of higher resolutions. My older driver started at 800 x 600 and went up from there.

The 720 x 480 seems to be pretty sweet so far. Its VERY readable compared to 800 x 600. I've not yet tried it with a movie -- that will be the next step.

Attached is a screen shot of my my desktop.

I can even read the clock now!

PowerDVD plays DVDs just fine at this resolution but Microsoft Media Player has a black screen. I can live without MMP as long as other programs will play the DVDs. The usability of the screen is so much better at this resolution. So far I really like it.

Well....I went back to 800 x 600. Road Runner was cut off so badly on the bottom that it wasn't usable. Oh well! At least this info may be useful to someone.

Did you edit the general.ini file of the main skin to show the original and displayed size? I had this problem with a skin and edited resolution. Worked perfectly.

the earlier 8" lillis were actually 640X480 panels.... if yours doesn't look crisp at 800X600 then try 640X480.... it'll look even better than it looked at 720X480
