Is Dynamix 706 the brightest screen (compared to Xenarc)?

So I am looking for a new screen to install my carputer in my new car.

The first time I went with the Lilliput and had ALL the problems (ghost effect, touchscreen broke, etc)... so I am willing to spend the $$$'s to get a good screen.

So ofcourse I want to go with the top-notch Xenarc. I was ready to buy it when I stumbled across the Dynamix 706. Now I've been out of the scene for about a year ... so when did this monitor come out? I know Xenarc is 300nits brightness with the touchscreen but the Dynamix says it's 400nits! Is that with the touchscreen?

That would make this a much better monitor because we all know these screens suck in sunlight!!!

1. What do you guys think about the brightness? 300 vs 400nits?

2. Does this thing do auto-on when it senses VGA input (power-save)?

3. Does it do auto-switch to rear-view camera? Does the Xenarc do this?

Thanks! I hope to buy my screen tomorrow so all your input is appreciated.

Everything about it looks like a re-branded lilliput. Just my 2 cents. I found some old threads here on mp3car.com where people were comparing it to the lilliput and asking which one to get, lilliput or this dynamix 706.

I'd go with the Xenarc, only because this looks like a lilliput, but also because the latest Xenarcs are super lcd's and it wouldn't seem like 100nits would make a huge difference (i could be totally wrong about that though).

Good luck

Whoa, I did find this though, which makes those Dynamix's quite the possiblity if they are indeed NOT lilliput knock-offs..

Bah looks like others have posted about that double din unit too, seems the contrast ratio is a bit low for most peoples likings. Oh well, so I defer to my original thought.. get a Xenarc and pair it with this whenever its finished: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...01&postcount=1

Yeah, I was thinking Xenarc but the brightness thing has really got me confused. 100nits is a good bit because that would be a 25% brighter screen and I have been in the car vga lcd scene for over 2 yrs and it's a joke that no company (Xenarc included) is working on a better, brighter screen or a touchscreen that doesn't reflect sunlight so bad!!!

1. I can't compare it to a Xenarc because no one around me has a carputer

2. It does do VGA Auto On

3. The rear view does do a autoswitch if hooked to a rear view camera
(it works off a +12 volt signal, when you put your car in reverse it senses
the current from its input line that is the pos feed to the lights and switches views, goes back to vga viewing when the car is shifted out of
reverse)

The manual however is a complete and utter joke.....in fact the Taiwanese translation is quite laughable
