What would you pay for a 1300nit screen? No Backlight upgrade needed.
This is the price TrueVision Displays gave me when I was searching for an alternative Albrite. http://www.tvdisplays.com/
10.4" XGA LCD 1,300 nit Panel : $490
Inverter with full dimming range : $85
Controller ( A/D Board ) : $120 ( Have Cheaper depending on your requirement )
Touchscreen : Depends on What kind you want?
Seems a bit pricey but he's going to put a hold on my credit card if I want to test out the LCD and so I can do review for everyone. If I really liked it, I'd keep it. Also, if the store was able to sell this as a bundle the CEO of the company said he would gladly mark down the unit.
Should I go through with my order and the review or is it not worth it?

Whether it's worth it is ultimately up to you, but that is a very reasonable price for a screen that bright. $1K+ is commonplace for 1K+ nit screens.
Personally I prefer transflective to hi-bright because they draw less power / produce less heat and they don't need to be dimmed so drastically at night, but transflectives can be pretty pricey as well.

I don’t see why not, it sounds like they are not going to charge from what you are inferring, so why not give it a go.

If I had the room for a display that big, I'd do it in a heartbeat (providing that the sample meets their claims).

I did not see any way to see specs on there site, did they tell you the model of the actual lcd panel they use? contrast ratio? vueing angles?
The resolution is good (maybe to good for in the car) and 1300 should be plenty bright, and dimming will be key at night.
with touchscreen and tax this is going to run about a grand though. wow.
looks like a good find, just remember craming that 10.4 into your dashboard is alot harder then it looks at first

Yea, I'm scetchy about the "grand" portion of it. I want it to be more like 500 at most. So I guess I'll see what price can be done.

So the total looks like 700$. I think I'm gunna bail. I agree with people saying spend 50% on the screen but my computer is built from old part and I only need the screen.
Check this list out. Can I get cheaper inverters, ect...?
TVD10xh 10.4 XGA 1.300 nit $490
TVDINV501 Inverter WRVI $85
MISC VGA A/D Board w/OSD $90
Total $695 with shipping. Can anyone justify this. And also, I did contact them, but what if i never see my monitor or my money again. There sites so scetchy.
What is everyone else doing about brightness these days?
God I'd love an albrite right about now.

The inverter and A/D board prices are spot on. you may be able to shave 3-5.00 off each, but that is a stretch.
The panel is what I would question. If you can get them to give you the exact make and model # of the lcd panel that they used for the high bright mod, I can give you an idea of the price.
The pn you listed for the lcd is their #, not a manufacturer's pn.
I can supply high quality usb anti glare touch panels for this for about 165.00
so, with those prices you are at 860ish (30.00 for the sh is a tad high, unless you are ordering overseas)
