vga to rca adapter to use VGA card with composit in screen?

Ok, so I just got a screen that is composite in. I do not have a S-video out on my carputer, so I was wondering if THIS CABLE would work as a converter. Otherwise I am going to end up adding a vid card to the system and I am trying to keep power draw down.

Thanks for any help, and yes I did search!

No, that won't work. That seperates VGA signal into COMPONENT video, not composite.

You'd need something like this:

you really need an s-video or composite out on your video. The cheapest solution would likely be to get a cheap video card with composite out or svideo (but then you have to convert the svideo)

Hmmm.. I thought that component and composit were the same. looks like I have a bit more reading to do.

my screen has rca inputs. yello for video, and white for audio. screen is a zenarc 700v. what do I need? If I need to get a vid card with S-Video out thats cool. Ill get one. Im NOT going to spend 150 on a fancy converter. If I have to go that way, Ill just get the lilliput touchscreen VGA. and not mess with this screen.

Component has 3 wires for video (Y/B/R i think) and then the red/white for sound. Composite is just the yellow for video and then the red/white sound.

That's great, but in your original post, you said that you don't have S-Video out on your computer. If that's the case, then this is going to do you no good. If you do have S-Video out on your computer, this will work just fine.

You need a scan converter. The 'cheese box' was one, but I don't think it's made manymore, although there are comparable products out there.
