"Open-Frame" Touchscreen?

Hi all, I have a 2001 Honda Civic, and it has a 7.5" x 4.5" space where my stock stereo used to be. I'd like to put a touchscreen in there, and I'd like to maximize the use of that space. All the touchscreens I see on mp3Car.com have huge frames/bezels with buttons and stuff that I just don't need. Based on my calculations, I should be able to easily fit an 8" 16:9 screen in there (maybe even an 8.5"). Anyways, Where can I find one of these? Could I just buy one of these and just take the screen out of the frame/bezel?

That's awesome. It's nice to see that it can at least be done. However, that guy used the whole screen, bezel and all. I was hoping I'd be able to use the touchscreen without the space-wasting plastic bezel. Has anyone tried that?

Well, if you take a look at my 2003 civic install, you will see that you atleast have to use some of the bezel. I had to cut my bezel down a lot, and then used a plastic trim piece for the surround. The only part of the bezel that I used was the front part, heavily cut and the back part of the case is completely removed. Check it out here
