touchscreen not working at edges?

I just recieved my Lilliput 619 touchscreen. The touchscreen is not really accurate, when I press somewhere, the mouse cursor will land approximately
.5 inches away. Is there a program that will make the touch screen more accurate? Also, why does the touchscreen not work within .75 inches of the edge of the screen? If there is a window that I want to close, the cursor will not go up that high. Why doesnt the entire screen work?

Did you run the calibration first?

What do you mean, calibration? If you mean the driver, yes I installed it. It really ticks me off that the touch-screen doesnt work near the edges. Does anyone else have this problem?

By calibration, he means, after you install the driver, you have to "calibrate it" or tell the screen where the physical limits are with respect to the software. Go to the properties screen of the touchscreen controller, and you'll see something like "4 point calibration" or "full calibration or something". Then you tap the x's as close as you can to where they appear on the screen, and the software then extrapolates this to the entire screen making it accurate. You NEED to calibrate it first.

Obviously he didn't do it yet.

Did you even install the driver for it?

He says he installed the driver, but I don't know if he used XP's built in one or what.

Go to the driver for the touchscreen (if you are using XP, device manager, then under USB one should be touchscreen) and there is a tab for hardware options or something. Then there are a few calibration options. If you are using... forgot the name, but it is a popular universal touchscreen driver that many people use, but anyways then there is a shortcut that goes to configure.
