I'd buy a DIY kit, if offered by the store. Is DIY possible?

Transflective is not DIY, a clean room is required. However would an open frame system (no bezel) be something you guys would prefer? Rather than taking the xenarcs and lilliputs apart?

I would prefer an open frame as that is the way I will use it anyway. Just so long as it has the Xenarc controller board.

I would buy whatever sunlight readable display the mp3car store offers as long as its a 7inch model.

As for bezel or not.... I could work with it either way, just need the sunlight readability.

BENSON; your company could make a good profit by extending thir single unit upgrade aleast for another 2 month. is there anybody that we can make noise to. an email or phone number to have them extend their individual upgrade longer

hey nathan, Just a thought, but would the car computer users notice a little bit of an improvement with just the touchscreen upgrade? I wonder if that is something you could offer to the masses that wouldn't cost as much. (it doesn't affect me since you have my screen...just trying to help out the others on the forum)

Damn shame that the company made the decision to tell us all to eff off by completely closing the door on individual upgrades. The upper mgmt needs to understand that popularity of a product/service in this realm NEEDS the kind of exposure that only comes from individuals purchasing the service, installing the product, and showing their friends. I'm an admin on a car forum which has the potential to draw in a minimum of 10 people, but these guys don't lay down the money without seeing it in the real world first. nmbenson, PLEASE stress this to the decision makers.

That being said though, if mp3.car.com were to offer in their store an enhanced 7" screen, I would purchase one.

I am just beginning the process on putting together a carpc and wanted to get the screen out of the way first. I've been waiting a year for the technology to evolve a bit and with this new treatment and optically aligned touch panel I think I'm ready to take the plunge.

As he stated before, he won't/can't provide a TS without doing the Trans upgrade at the same time. It is covered in the main thread (the review)

All you guys need to be more patient and let things work out. Zip Lock already said that he has plans to bring this to the store... Im sure more details will come as decisions are made. This is really the best situation for everyone. The mp3car.com store fronts the cash for the monitors and the mimimum order requirements imposed by FPD and the customers get the enhanced finished piece and they dont have to mess around with ordering lcd's, touchscreens, lcd controllers and all that nonsense. They buy one product that works and install it. Makes it simple. Just be patient.

i'd like to see mp3car store offer the "upgrade" as an option or at least act as a central collection repository for upgrades.

waiting is the hardest thing!

the funny thing is... the upgrade costs more than the screen. someone is going to be from all the profit.
