Question Dynamix 816 Widescreen

I was looking at getting this monitor for my setup. http://dynamixcomputers.com/dynamix_...n_monitor.html Does anyone have this monitor? If so, have there been any noticeable problems with it? I've tried searching and can't seem to find any info on this model...

IT's a newer model, so there aren't very many people who have one. If you do get one, you may very well be one of the first members to do so.

Hey,

Did you end up getting the dynamix 816? If you did or if there is someone else that has it could they tell me how it performs. I'm thinking about maybe getting it. How does it compare to some of the other touch screens out there? Also does it have an auto power on feature? Any comments about it would be great,

James

I did end up getting the screen. It works great. I have no complaints whatsoever. It does auto start on pc startup. I have not taken it apart as yet. I'm still figuring out where I want to mount the screen in my car. I will keep you posted. I'm just about to start a work log thread.

When you get it apart can you also take measurements of the LCD unit for both physical and viewable dimensions? I have room for a double din (with a little extra space) and I know it will be tight, but I wanted to find out how tight before I bought one.

Edit:

Sorry, found the dimensions in

Bezel: 189mm x 120mm
Viewable: 178mm x 108mm

It will default VGA first. You have to manually switch to the RCA inputs if you want them to appear first for a camara. Not that much of a problem for me. I don't plan on adding a camara until much later in my project. Comes with a remote so if you decide to remove your buttons you can use the remote instead.

And just how do you plan to pull this off???
If you remove the button board, say for a custom bezel, you will loose the IR sensor that the remote sends the signals to.

I never thought of this. I will prob keep the button board and cover the buttons for a clean look while still leaving the IR sensor exposed or just totally relocate the button board somewhere in my dash by extending the wires.
