10inch touchscreen LCDs?

I'm in Aussie land, looking for a good 10inch screen, but, I also need to know the dismantled dimensions...

I have a space thats 178mm high, 231mm wide at the top, and 208mm wide at the bottom...

yes, I know an 8inch lillput screen will fit, in its original case, but I figure something bigger might fit aswell.

any help would be great.

cheers

10 ts is rare, I have had a search on ebay running for years, always stupidly priced, ie 2* a 12 inch, I gave in and used a 12.

good price, but I was thinking of 2nd user POS ones.

you can get 12's for about 70ukp, but the tens are usually about 130ukp, so thats a good price as looking at his list that one you linked is 146ukp

p&p bumps it to 170 though...........

p&p on a 2nd pos is usally about 10ukp

good find though.

just realised, that "POS" was refering to point of sale, yes? not PIECE OF *****!!!! haha

anyway, here in Aussie land, you dont see many pos screens for sale...

I think I'll just get an 8inch lilliput, BUT, after looking here, it seems alot of people are having problems

which one? lol

first one, the case is too big for the space I actually have, so I'd probably give that a miss, but the other two would fit.

so, how do these differ?

hmm, one lists the operating conditions, temp, humidity, etc, while the other does not...

maybe I should just get the most expensive one, which I was going to anyway...

thanks for any help.

edit: or, do I go with a non lilliput one?

hey i'm in Aus so have the same issues with getting them, i ended up getting the 10.4 just coz it could fit i believe you'll find they all only have a true res of 800X600, they just can support 1024X768 if u want it to do the dodgy lets squeeze more pixels in thing

they do however have versions that actully do run at 1024X768, but in the 10.4" model i was looking at over $100 more, and then it just makes finding skins and pressing buttons harder, and i pulled out an old laptop that could only run 800X600 and it looked ok and it was 12" so saved the money and went with the cheaper one.

i bought it through a company called automation electronics (in melb), which ended up being basically the same price anyway, but they were able to get the info i needed so it all worked out.

from my knownledge this one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Lilliput-8-4-...QcmdZViewItem# is the newest one of the lot

to a degree i wish i went with a widescreen aspect ratio screen instead, but i have nothing to fill the gap it woulda left, as my 10.4" screen fitted perfectally, i'm no longer driving that car so am concidering if i wanna buy a 7" screen for my tempory car...

I've heard that most skins can be stretched to fit a higher res display and it looks fine. I'm going to be trying that soon.
