Touchscreen problem in Lilliput

Hi guys,

I have a Lilliput v2005 and the touch screen doesnt work.
When I push in the panel the computer send a beep but the pointer is still.
I tried to calibrate it but nothing.
The pointer is located in the down-left corner of the screen. When I click it open start menu but doesn't move the cursor.
May be the touch screen hardware has been damaged?
Anybody has have the same problem?

Sorry for my English, I'm Spanish.

Regards.

More than likely something is pressing the screen... Probably on the bottom left corner.

Have you opened it up? Have you spilled crumbs on it?

If its not what 2k1Toaster said then it may be your drivers.....

Make sure your drivers are installed and working properly (im assuming your using windows xp here) go here to see:
Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware > Device Manager > (Then look for your thouch screen in the list, I'm not sure what it would come up as, right now my screen isnt put back in one piece yet, lol.

If it has a red 'x' or a yellow '!' that may very well be your problem.

Anways hope this helps

look for debris, and install the latest drivers then recalibrate.

Eliminate all other possibilities like..shrink wrap! then calibrate. That'll fix it! (from experience )

I had a similar problem with my transflective screen (an upgraded Liliput). I took the screen apart, and ran a #24 insulated wire on the left- and righthand side of the front half of the case. It's easy to attach on the inside by bending it around the plastic screw posts. No need to mess with glue or anything, it stays in place as-is.

The touchscreen originally lays on thin strips of felt tape. It now lays with it's edges on the wires, creating plenty of clearance between the touchscreen and the case. I can properly tighten the screws around the LCD as well as the case itself, and the touchscreen work great.

thanks for the input guys!
I've taken off the shrink wrap, i didnt however take the case off in for fear of voiding the warranty (which I plan to do later but want to at least know I have a working screen first). I did however loosen the screws/take out from the back and tried it. No luck....
