Doubtful. Never seen anything but blue or black.

I have a 2" diffuser from a small LCD screen.
If you shine red LED light on in, it'd turn into a red-lit rectangle.

$5 and it's yours.

What LCD?

What does the backlight look like?

What are you planning to use it for? Nightvision?

...more information would really help answer your question...

Short answer is just replace or add high-brightness LEDs to your LCD lightguide.

most lcds come with a blue background, is it possible to chage it to red. I want to put two of these small lcds in my break light and when you press the break the video signal would cut and you get a red background.

Is this possible

does anyone know where i can find a 2.5 or 3 inch screen with red background thanks.

Are you refering to the blank screen you see that is blue when you power up a small lcd?
As for using as a brake light, good luck with the local revenue generators. Once Officer Friendly sees that, you will be in for a DOT insperction, and a ticket or 2. How can you use a red lcd display as a brake light? there is no way you would have enough light output to even remotely qualify as a brake light during the day. Plus, you need to have a change in intensity, or else the effect would be light turning on your headlights. people behind you would not know you are on the brake.
Although it sounds like it would look trick if it was set up right, but I think you are asking for trouble if you drove a vehicle in the manner you suggest.
Just my 2 cents, not trying to **** in your corn flakes. Good luck
