Question LCD Power Question

I have a 700IDT connected to my carputer, which used to be located underneath my passenger seat, and I had the monitor connected to one of the opus 120's molex connectors and it worked fine, now I have my computer connected in the trunk and I tried to run a wire from the dash to the trunk and the monitor turns on, doesnt display any output from the computer, then says "power off" across the top and goes into standy mode. I took my 19" lcd from my home computer, jsut to see if maybe the video card wasnt outputting any video or something, but I hooked it up in my car and the carputer is outputting video so I dont think thats the problem.

So here's my question; Is that too far to run a power wire from the trunk to my lcd? i would say the wire is about 10ft Im using 12awg wire so its not like the wire is too small or anything...

I'd give it about 2 weeks before I have a computer up in the dash ;)
