Ribbon cable question

I have a motorized housing, and a lilliput screen. The VGA ribbon cable got stressed when the unit was opening and closing and ended up shorting a wire.

Do I need to buy the same side ribbon cable, or the opposing side ribbon cable?

Also, do they make round cables, so this kind of thing doesn't happen again? Ribbon cables just aren't designed to be moved back and forth/side to side at this angle.

i seriously doubt they'd make a round ribbon cable for ur screen

mind you, you can always just make one yourself, it isnt that hard

just use some reaaaaaaaally fine sandpaper, and get to the ribbon cable contacts, then carefully solder some wire to them, there u go, bundle up the wire and u have urself a round 'ribbon' cable

u gotta be realllly careful tho, its not that easy, i destroyed a few ribbon cables myself doing that, lol
