Screen shuts off while playing DVD video or Winamp Milkdrop
Hi, I've been having some wierd trouble with my screen while using the DVD player. I searched the forums but didn't find anyone with this problem. I am not sure what is causing the trouble or how it can be fixed.
I have a Xenarc 700TSV that is powered by a M1-ATX, and my carputer is being by a separate M2-ATX. My screen is running in 800x640x32, 60Hz through PowerStrip.
M2-ATX:
EPIA SP-13000
1GB DDR400 RAM
300GB Seagate 3.5" SATA HD
Pioneer DVR-K05 Slot-loading DVD-RW with USB external enclosure
Touchscreen USB Interface cable
1 USB hub (with Earthmate GPS and a Card Reader attached)
M1-ATX:
Xenarc 700TSV
Everything runs fine except when I am watching video from a DVD, my screen will shut off after 10-20 seconds. This happens when I am either watching a DVD or watching a Divx video that is stored on a DVD. I can still hear the movie/video playing, just the screen powers off. When I press ALT+F4 to close the player, the screen comes back on.
This does not occur when I am playing a video from the hard drive. Everything works fine then. In fact, I can copy the video files from the DVD-R to the hard drive, and then watch them. The screen does not shut off while copying the files.
This also happens sometimes when I am opening a DVD-R with a folder of videos in Windows Explorer and the thumbnails are automatically generated...the screen will shut off.
It also happens when I am using Winamp to play music and have the Milkdrop plug-in running in full-screen 800x480 mode. When I close the Milkdrop plug-in, the screen comes back on. Full-screen 640x480 works just fine, though.
