Lilliput Ribbon Cable HELP

So I am on my final step of finishing my carputer. I was trying to mount the LCD into my trim piece and while taking my Lilliput apart, I popped off the creme/beige colored connector tab (Following Picture from another site)

Notice it missing here in the picutres I took:

AND

Is there a way to "slide" it into its slot because that beige connector tab is pretty much broken. I tried holding the ribbon cable in place by electrical tape, but when I turned my LCD on, it was hazy white with streaks running everywhere. I hope I didn't break my LCD?

Pleeasee help.

I have heard of people having luck by using a business card and tearing off a piece and stuffing it in the spot where the plastic piece should go. I doubt it will work as well, but as long as it pushes the contacts of the ribbon cable up against the contacts of the connector, it should work. You could then tape it on with a piece electrical tape to help it stay that way.

It shouldn't have any effect on the LCD, as it is some what like unplugging a monitor cable, or not having it in all the way. I am not an expert, but I have broken many thing relating to a computer and I have never hurt a monitor with a ribbon cable.

No luck =(

Still getting the hazy white lines like here:

I tore off a piece of a business card, folded it up, and taped it on top of the ribbon cable like here:

I am not sure if that is making enough pressure. Is the ribbon cable supposed to "slide" into the slot? Like it doesn't seem to go anywhere and I don't see how it makes metal to metal contact.

Anything else I can try?

You have to slip the cable into the connector, and then on top of the cable, take the business care piece and SHOVE IT INTO THE CONNECTOR AS WELL, basically wedging the cable down. Then, tape the cable and the card so it doesn't move.

=) Thanks Wiredwrx and Crez, after a frustrating hour of trying to shove the business card into the slot, my LCD came back to life.

Pics of my completed setup up soon.

Thanks again.
