but, i'm sure this new monitor from CARTFT isn't transflective or TMR, is common transmisive LCD panel but with 600nits. The LCD panel is hitachi, but don't have TMR, only smaller TFTs for mobiles or PDAs have it in now... maybe in future... i think cartft description is wrong.

i think the cartft is an improvement, but I don't think the difference is worth the investment if you already have a standard lilli/xenarc. now if it's your first monitor...it may very well be worth your money.

Yeah, pity it doesn't work as good as the $700 lilly.....

as soon as I hook it up I kept getting the white screen of death... Also the touchscreen doesn't allow me to touch my start menu button or all along the bottom and right side.

the best may actually be the cartft with the lilli's ts panel
that cartft doesn't look bad really, & if that's in direct sunlight it looks WAY better than a standard screen...
That's pretty much why I'm saying I wish I could get the CarTFT enhanced with the Transflective technology. I think the color and the picture is better than the Lilli and with the features it's over the top but unless I can see it as well as the Transflective Lilli I can't use it.

I plan on shipping the CarTFT monitor back tomorrow but if there's some one in the US interested in buying it. PM me a reasonable offer and I will consider it.

yeah, lint is a big problem... mostly because the inners of the lcd seem to be static charged & everything sticks to it... a clean room is supossed to be just that... like a spraybooth... filtered air in... but even the best of the best will only be so much contamination free... it controls the dust& lint, but doesn't completely eliminate it...
a cleanroom being 100% necissary is bull****... it helps for production but if your careful & have a clean environment then you can do the same thing they do really... the trick is to be concious of lint & dust.... heres a screen I worked on modifying... I got a hair inside... but this can be removed...
a cleanroom helps the way a spraybooth helps, but niether is 100% necissary... just easier..

Could it be done DIY style Where would I get it from, and how much? Lots of Q's I know, but Im curious

in the LCD subforum, there is a huge sticky on transflective screens, take a look there, all your questions will be answered

there are several different films made by 3m.... I haven't seen much conclusive diy info on them though... at this point it's more like try it & see... & these products aren't ment for an end consumer, so it's not like you can just call & order a tiny quantity from what I've seen.... the films aren't very expensive, but it does get a bit pricey when you have to buy 20X what you need..,
as far as the actual transflective... this is a mirrored layer that winds up right in front of the light guide... I haven't found any source for anything specifically indicated as transflective film.... & then there are changes to the optical stack that are done to go along with that, but again, this stuff isn't intended for an end user.. & there are no real guides as to what to use & how... I think the big companies experiment & through there own r&d, hit the combo there happy with & then use this in there production, but asking them what to use & how is going to get you nowhere....
to me, the only way to really know is to play & experiment..... doing your own r&d..... but it's hard to consider that cost effective for one screen...

Can you get these in the US/? The website only lists in UK pounds, and no US shipper.
