how bad is the viewability of motorized touch screens in the sun?

I have a 7thgen civic and it is notorious for washing out all radio displays. I'm pretty sure you can't get a transflective motorized touch screen. Will I be dissatisfied getting something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MOTORIZED-K3...QQcmdZViewItem

Yes, if it is as bad as you say it is. You could buy the motorized unit and the transflective, and then put the transflective into the motorized unit, assuming it fits. Most of the LCD are similar enough to allow this, though with the tranflective, it might be a bit thicker, it might still be able to be done, or you can check out www.digitalww.com and see if he has any empty motoroized units (I think he used to sell them empty) and try and mount the transflective in there.

Theres a bunch of issues here... you may want to get a generic lcd (a laptop even) and see how bad your case is. I doubt that this specific unit has transreflective in it already. But the other specs look good.... do you have any experience opening electronics and upgrading etc...? If not you may want to consider alternate mounting locations...

My best advice here is research!
