LCD Fades

Greetings!

I have a 10.4" Sharp LCD with Glass Touch Screen kit. The screen looks fantastic with videos, windows, etc.

Here is my problem....I am not sure if this is related to that I may have poor wiring for power and such, all of this will be fixed. Currently wires are stripped and twisted together and taped. I am going to get everything soddered together and fresh wire.

But anyway...I turn my screen on....it looks great. Slowly it fades into almost nothing (darkness) and then it turns off....I touch the screen and its full brightness again. (Obvious thing is that I must have a screen power save mode on in Windows and thats why it turns off after 15 minutes. But do any of you guys have an idea why it would fade to almost nothing during that time?? Like I said, I touch the screen, and then the screen is really bright again.

Next thing is for me to turn off the power saving and see if it still happens. The last few long trips I didn't want to do that in case it keeps fading into nothing....then it doesn't power off so there for the only way to reset the screen is to restart the computer.

Has anyone had similar problems like this?? Think it is my power save mode....don't get why it would slowly fade though

Nathan

ADDED: If I just touch the screen anytime it doesn't reset to full brightness, only after the screen has powered down.

hijinks21 is on a distinguished road
here is a guess but did you test the power wires to see if you are getting the volts and amps the screen requires to run? That doesn't seem like it could be the problem but its a random guess. Have you tried it say in your house find.. might be something messed up in the screen itself if it does the same thing outside of your car.
