two questions about larger-than-7" touchscreen monitors

(significantly larger, as in 10"+)

1) are there any available with the amazing transflective screen?

2) what frontend works with these larger resolutions?

I think fron-ends should work on larger screens. I had centrafuse running on a 15" without any problems.

listen if the transflective 7 inch runs for like 600 you are really going to drop some serious money on a 10 or bigger we are talking 1k or more for that much money you can get a no name brand lcd 27 inch from sears and hook it up to any computer you want i have a HD tv lcd 27 at home hooked up to my desktop and sometimes hooked up to xbox 360 work nice but trans thats some serious money

the screen is the single most important end of a carpc, it's really all you see in normal use, & it is most of your interaction & control, as well as feedback...

in a sense, the screen IS the carpc... I'd rather have a killer screen with a few comprimises in the rest of the system than a crappy screen with a killer system, of course, best is to have it all, but the screen should take the highest priority as far as I'm concerned...

a killer large screen will be expensive, but well worth it

any frontend will work on a big screen, but sometimes, with extra screen realestate, you'll want to modify the skin to better suit, I mean with a large screen you can have more info available at the same time, & large buttons on a 7" can be too large on a 12.1, so the best thing to really get the most out of it, is to choose a frontend that you can alter to better suit.... but any frontend will work...

no,... most frontends it's just a matter of changing a line or 2 in either a setup menu or worse case a system file...

you CAN stretch any skin to fit your resolution no problem...

it will work no problem......

if you want to do a ****load of work to better take advantage of a larger screen you can, but you certainly don't have too...

cheers,

but does it switch automatically to the RCA when the RCA signal is present, and then back to VGA when the RCA signal disappears?

Wrong. You can buy a 10.4" touch screen with transflective enhancements for under 700.00
