Excessive?

I picked this LCD up from earthlcd.com. Perhaps 12.1" is a bit much, but I love the onboard VGA and touchscreen controllers. It also turns on and off when a VGA signal is/is not present. What is really great is a high enough resolution that I can still control with a touch screen.

How did you mount that screen? I've got a similar size screen that I want to mount in almost exactly the same place. Do you have some kind of bracket back there or what? Would you mind taking a pic of the back of that so I can see the setup?

It is a simple block of wood that fits in my single din stereo chassis. It has a groove in the top for the Power, VGA Cable, and USB cable for the Touchscreen Controller. It is simply covered in generic upholstry from good ole Wal-Mart. The bolts in the bottom align with a hole between the radio and enviremental controls. Large washers and a few nuts are used to anchor the entire unit to the center of the dash. The face plate is a double din to single din conversion for GM vehicles.

Now the hard part: How did you get the LCD to stay mounted on that wooden block sticking out of your DIN slot?

Using two rather large wood screws and tabs on the back of the LCD housing. I use a spacer (or wedge) between the LCD housing and block of wood. This pic is a bit dark, but it shows the mounting and cables a bit better:
