Cool In Dash Lilliput problems addressed

I will post another more detailed thread in the reviews section with more details, but Lilliput has released a 3rd generation gl-701np/c/t in dash motorized monitor (It isn’t available with the TV tuner yet). It was released in limited quantity on 11-01-06. It looks identical to the 2nd gen until you look closely at the hinges that control the monitor flipping in/out. They are shorter and much wider. That is the only physical difference on the outside that I saw. Inside they are using a totally NEW board. If you want pics let me know and I will post them as well. I have both external and internal (I could resist dissecting one).
The areas that were addressed are:
Motor strength
Poor gear quality
Programming issues like the one described in this post with the radio
Not being able to play the sound from the PC through the stock speakers without an external amp. Please look in the reviews section shortly for more information.

3rd Generation Lilliput In Dash Monitor Info

Hello,
Yes I am a Lilliput reseller, but I just want to share the information with people. I did post my review yesterday in the reviews section, BUT it seems to have disappeared. Don't know whats up with that. I even spoke with Lilliput and the guy that started the post and it should be no problem for him to return it for replacement or repair.
I type way to low to repeck what I posted yesterday but here is the bottom line with the 3rd generation 701's
they changed the gears and motors- they are faster and stronger. it seems to have resolved the issues that resulted in the screens not opening all of the way or at all. The screen opens and closes much faster.
They addressed the programming code to fix all of the known errors. So far seems like they did a good job
They redesigned the whole circut board The nicest change is that you can now get the pc sound to play through the stock speakers by using the 701 as the amp/ no external amp required. This wasnt possible before.
The 1 draw back that i found so far is that the damn thing beeps like the touch screen interface when you turn the volume up or down or when you press any button on the front of the unit. I am hoping to find the setting, just like the touch kit has, to turn the beeping off. I will let you know if I find it. I have both internal shots of the new board and external shots of the new hinge design uploaded. If you want to see them let me know and I will post the links.

For sure I would...Great!!!!

I have something to ask you and hopping you will help me.

I have 3 of old lilliput indash screen and I am going crazy to hack them changing the microcontroller (changing the SyncMos SM89516A by a PICBASIC controler).

2 soltutions to solve my problems :

1) Get the last firmware (present in 3rd generation you talk about) of the microcontroller (SyncMos SM89516A) and upgrade mines. The problem is that I don't have the technologies to falsh such microcontroller (universal programmer are needed for this... they cost hundred of dollars)

2) Get LAST FIRMWARE UPGRADED SyncMos SM89516A microcontrollers directly from Lilliput (Could pay them, no problemif it is not hundred of dollars )

I think the second solution will be the best way....

That's why I need your help. You have contact with Lilliput.

Hopping you could help me.
