Question Screen comes out partially, goes right back in...

I have a Panasonic in-dash DVD/LCD (Model#CY-VMD9000U) that has problems opening... When I power it up the screen comes all the way out then starts to move upward. It gets to about the 20 degree point then goes back down and retracts. I'm sure this is due to some safety mechanism but I can seem to figure it out... Any ideas?

Here is a stock photo of it...

Try a Panasonic specific forum.

Or perhaps, contact the manufacturer for help and or replacement/waranty work.

There is little chance anyone on this site has any useful information since this site is dedicated to carputers and screens that interface with them.

I have yet to find a panasonic dedicated forum (slowly finding out that people don't care for this brand LCD) and I'd hate to pay to have it repaired! I figured it was a long shot posting on these forums but people here seem to be familiar with all types of LCDs and maybe they could point me in the general direction...
