Unhappy Troublesome Touchscreen

Im Having Problems With My Touchscreen. The Problem Is That It Works Fine For A Few Minutes But When I Stop Touching It For More Than A Few Minutes The Cursor Doesn't Move At All When I Touch It. But To Get It Working Again, I Unplug It From The Usb And Plug It Back In Again And It Works Again For A Few Minutes. I've Changed The Drivers For New Ones. Could It Be Down To The Usb Extension?

First of all: DONT WRITE IN ALL CAPS!

Secondly, welcome.

And the problem is more than likely due to XP's USB "power saving" feature. It turns off USB devices after inactivity to save power. Utter crap. So go to device manager, and click properties for all your USB hubs/roots. Then deselect the box that says "Allow windows to turn off this device to save power".

Try that first. If you aren't running an NT operating system, then nevermind, and we will go on to something else.
