toutchscreen playing up. keeps going blank!! **HELP**

hey guys, im having some trouble with my 7" monitor. it doesnt have a brand name on it or in the manual. but it does say it model number, which is: XDXP070Z

now, when i first got it i tried it on one pc. and it was showing the screen but the after about 2 seconds it would go blank. the power was still on, and i could even go through the video inputs back to VGA, and it would show the screen.. but only for a couple of seconds, then go blank.

SO

i took it to another pc in the house with the same car battery. and plugged it in and it worked FINE.

i then tried it again but on my own pc, and again.. it worked fine.

but since then it has been back in its box. but now i have the rest of my car pc. i got it out and tested it. and the bloody thing has gone back to displaying the screen for a couple of seconds and going blank again. the same as when i first tried it.

but i have tried it with the two pc's that it worked with before, but no joy. still the same thing.

anyone know why this might be happening? or what i could try?

Thanks!

Sounds like perhaps a loose cable or connection. If you can;t find anything, it is possible that the controller card has gone bad. Check all connections, make sure you have enough voltage and amperage AT ALL TIMES during operation, and open the unit and make sure everything is seated correctly.

is it possible tha its going to the sleep mode(power save) for some reason ?

if you can find some way to reset the settings, it would be worth to try. (generally it is some key combination press & hold at power up)

cuold it be that theres a battery inside that needs to charge before it can switch on properly, because that would seem to tie in with whats happening at the mo.

get a new cable maybe? it could just be soethign as simple as that,

if its a lilliput, i have a spare cable i can send to you for a few bucks

or you could have just not connected the wire well, thus causing the monitor to connect and disconnect to the vga signal... and when you moved it around, it could have just put it in a place where the connections are always there...

but without being there, i could never be 100% sure

ok, something intresting....
with it all plugged in, but the pc off. i turned the screen on, and it showed a blank screen then blacked out again. i then turned on the pc, and the screen showed the boot up screen for a couple of secs then blanked again. once it got to the windows loading bar thing, it came on for 2 secs then went again. and the same happend when it got onto windows... it showed for 2 secs then went blank.

i dont know if this could help with trouble shooting... if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

but i dont want to open it up as it might void the years warrenty i have. if i can even get the supplierto respond..

Did you get it fixed?

I was looking at the same model. How do you like it for quality and did you get it fixed?

I just had this same issue with an in-dash I purchased. I just sent it back for another. Would be nice if we could get to the bottom of this though.
