touchscreen help

Right now I have a 5.6 inch LCD (by Pyle, you can find alot of em on eBay) and I am wondering if it is possible to mount a touchscreen onto of the actual screen. Do you have to have a VGA screen to mount a touchscreen, or is this possible?

you can mount a touchscreen to anything... screen, desk, wall... it doesnt matter where it is, as long as the surface you are attaching it to can handle the pushing without distorting... if it distorts, the screen could become detached, or worse, break/crack...

most touchscreen software will have a configuration so that you can align the touchpad with the display... you are shown a target (at a location the computer knows) , and when you touch it, the touchscreen determines the physical relationship between the input on the touchscreen and the location of the displayed object. giving the user 3 locations guarantees the screen will know where you touch relative to the display.

as long as your screen is displaying a monitor output, you should be able to use a touchscreen interface... having the vga screen will just make it look clearer!!

me too....

I've also been thinking about getting a 5.6" LCD, but only if I can get a touchscreen for it. I dont want to have to use a mouse!

Any ideas how much a touchscreen will cost to get fully operational for an old PC (not including the actual LCD itself) ?

I will need a touchscreen and controller yeah?
Whats the best value for money type of touchscreens available at 5.6" size?

Thanx.
