modify monitor case w/o back

for all of you that have modified your monitor cases when you put them in the dash and then couldnt put the backs back on, what did you do with all of the circuit boards that were mounted on the back of the case? I've been looking at mine and trying to figure out what to do with the boards once i lose the back and figure i'd ask to see if i can get some ideas.
thanks
mike
