Question 6.4"-6.5" High Bright LCD Options

I'm trying to make a decision on a 6.4" or 6.5" High Brightness LCD for a special engine status display to be mounted in a DigitalWW IH0001 housing in an experimental airplane. The panel has the possibility of getting full sun at times. Here are three displays I'm looking at:

1. NEC NL6448BC20-20 panel with full controller kit , Transmissive 650NIT, 600:1 Contrast.

http://www.nec-lcd.com/english/produ...8bc20-20c.html
Quote from CIDisplays for $850.

2. WinMate R06T200-OFP1TR panel LCD Kit, Transflective, 375-1000 NIT depending on ambient light. 120:1 Contrast.

http://www.winmate.com.tw/lcd-ipc/tr...200-OFP1TR.htm
Quote from American Industrial Systems for $550

3. EarthLCD SK-3024, using a Sharp LQ64D341, 1000NIT, Transflective unknown. 100:1 Contrast.

http://store.earthlcd.com/SK_3024?sc=7&category=234
Website price $599

One of my concerns is getting everything inside the IH001 pullout housing. #1 is the thinest option at 10.5mm, but it is also the most expensive. Thickness of options #2 & #3 are unknown, but I'm pretty sure they're more then 10.5mm. Does anyone have any experience with any of the above displays? I'm leaning toward either #1 or #3. I'm trying to see a $250 price difference between the two.

I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on the subject.

Thanks,
Michael

I have the baby brother of that NEC - the NL6448BC20-08 http://www.arcom.com/products/icp/de..._TFT_Nov06.pdf

It's only 250:1 contrast, but its a fantastic quality LCD. I'm quite pleased with it. I'm driving it with a DVI input board.

Breezer,

Thanks for the response. After looking around a little, I was able to get the NEC NL6448BC20-20 panel with full controller kit for $500 shipped from AISPro. It should be here in a few weeks. I also got a Manual InDash pull-out enclosure from DWW and will be looking at shoe-horning it into it. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for posting this info. Looks like a good company with a wide selection of screens. Looks like there's a 8.4" screen for me with options for touchscreen and sunlight readabliity. Here's the PDF.

How much was the screen and is it sunlight readable?
