Making my Intec Display Work (Finished)

Ok, so I bought an Intec PS2 screen for use with my XBOX that's going in my car. When I bought it, the guy on Ebay said it had video input, alas it doesn't and I was left trying to figure out how to get this thing to work with my XBOX.

So, first I tore apart the case the screen was in, and after much dremeling and cursing, I had it open.

Then I looked at the connector that was supposed to go into the back of a PS2. I scratched my head for a bit, and finally stumbled upon a pinout for the PS2 connector. The way the LCD is designed, the audio, and power, and video are all routed to one small PCB board, which is on the outside edge of the casing, so you can plug everything in easily. Anyways, on that PCB board, is where the PS2 connector plugs in. It's 5 wires, 2 grounds, 2 audio (right and left) and one "composite sync". Now using my pinout diagram, I was able to isolate which wires were what, and so after figuring out what color corrosponded to which pin on the PS2 connector, I was able to figure out which wire did what.

So I ended up having 5 wires, the aforementioned, and two grounds two audio and one composite sync. Now at this time I had no f'ing clue what a composite sync was, so after much googling, I still had nothing. So I was thinking about it, and cut open a RCA video cable, and it had one wire (which I assumed went to the composite sync) and some unshielded stuff inside. So I hooked up the wire in the RCA cable to the composite sync, and then connected the grounds to the unshielded stuff. I crossed my fingers and hooked up the power to the LCD, and then plugged my makeshift RCA cable into the back of my DVD player. WHALAH it worked.

So now I have a 5.4" video screen for my XBOX, with audio output, brightness adjustment, for about $30.

Just thought I would save everybody the trouble I went through, in case they wanted to try the same thing.
