Bought CTF800

Well, I ordered a ctf800 screen on x-mas eve..... delivery was today at JC-s60's house, who ofcourse wasn't home, but they're gonna offer it again tuesday.... I'll try and test it as soon as possible and try and compare it to JC's xenarc 700TS and ctf840.... I know comparing an 8" to a 7" and 8.4" doesn't really make sence, but I mainly want to know about brightness and contrast of the screen and how the colors stand out....

I'll let you guys know ASAP, couse I think the screen might be a good and cheaper option to the xenarc screens, and I think it surely may be better than most lilliputs, when it comes to fabrication-quality.... (for as far I can tell from what my brother told me about his ctf840 the screen was built rock-solid)

have you tried to run this at its native resolution at 800x480? does the OSD show the correct resolution?

been playing with it (came in day before yesterday, after they (UPS) ordered all new equipment due of loss of mine...

hooked up ctf800 and 700ts (unfortunatly, not side by side ) and for what I saw, the ctf800 was brighter, and colors were sharper. And one other important thing: the actual viewing-angle was MUCH bigger than with the xenarc!

and yes, it handles 800x480 perfectly.

downsides?

- little less firm built than the xenarc, but still firm enough....
- white background shows RGB a little too much (because of ts-overlay)
- when you look very close and know it's there, you might see shadow of opened windows sometimes, but so far only had it once.

edit: we'll see what it does under windows, but under linux so far no probs... although I haven't managed to install the ts-kit under linux properly.... so I can't tell anything about the ts-capabilitirs for now...

How have you tried 800 x 480 ? Here we tested only 800 x 600 ... Must agree it looks like a good screen...

unless I'm forgetting something, I can't choose it to run at a 800x480 resolution....

U need to force it to run 800x480.

Download Entwain PowerStrip to do that.
