Unhappy Lilliput LCD shifted now nothing

I have my LCD mounted in a bezel in my WRX with a mount from TMZ so I don't have the IR sensor or the buttons....so I went about it the way maxxell does in this post:
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...lilliput+shift

I was "ghetto" pushing the buttons by applying ground to the stop on the ribbon pin that corresponded to the button give in his post.

For some reason the menu was not showing up, so I figured i could test the "ghetto" button by cycling through the inputs....pin 7 from VGA to V1 to V2 and back to vga.

The screen went from VGA to V1, and then stated there was no input....and the screen went black....ok so far so good, but then when i wanted to flip to the next one nothing happened, actually nothing happens when I hit any of the pins, not power or menu .....does anyone have any idea why this would happen?

Thanks for the Help

One more thing, Is there any way that the Lilliput would turn off completely if there is no signal at one of its ports?

And is there any way I could have shorted out the entire screen by putting any of the ribbon cable inputs to ground?

also could it have been a power problem that made the screen shift like that? It had been working fine for at minimum a year....now all of a sudden there is a shift....the screen is not being powered by the M1 that is powering the computer, but by another behind it....?

Someone must have some kind of ideas? Why would a screen just shift like this....I don't really know where to start...looked over the screen and board today and saw no burn marks or shot ICs.

In my haste to try and fix the problem quickly I must have switched the pin diagram in the "ghetto" button fix and hit one of the IR sensor pins instead....I believe this "confused" the lilliput and it needed to be reset. I had time today to set up the screen inside on a clean work bench and do the job right. And low and behold I hit the power pin, it came on, hit the Video pin a few times, and then hit menu and auto adjust but it right where I wanted....now I just want to get an IR sensor and a remote.....

moral, take your time and do the job right the first time.

alright, the problem is back....It shifted again under its own power.....and I think that is the problem....I think my M1 may be having some issues on start up...nothin looks burned out but it is old....what do you guys think. I've already ordered a new PSU so I can tell you if anything changes in a week or two....but open to other ideas on what could be happening
