Xenarc 700TSV staying off in cold weather

Does anyone know if this screen will keep itself off while in cold weather???

When it's below 3 degrees C (37 Deg F)... the power light doesn't flash (Auto Power off Mode) when I start the car.... it will start to flash once the car warms up after about 20 minutes or so...

Only thing I figure is a temperature switch that's part of the power circuit???

I can't find anything in the manual about it..

Vin

I do know most LCD's HATE the cold.
I have a dell 10 inch installed and if its below 30ish,it has a lower response time, and lower then 15,it wont light at all.

yeah all lcds run slower when cold. If u have an lcd screen on a phone and leave it in ur car for a few hours in the cold, you can see the screen functions are delayed...

I think Vinster is saying that the thing isn't even powering on when it's cold. I've never had that problem and I had my screen with me through 1-3/4 winters. In Minnesota.

Could it be a problem with whatever circuitry is providing the power? Do you have the screen plugged into the power supply, or though some other device?
Could it be loose power or video cables?

That is the problem that I'm having, I have it pluged in the cig lighter... there is 12v there... once the car warms up, the LED starts to flash... it's quite strange

the manual doesn't mention anything about this but it does say that them temp operating temp range of the unit is 5-45 Degrees C. but I've never seen a switching cct that verifies this.

Get rid of the cig lighter connection. Who knows what's going on inside of that thing. Could be that the metal has shrunk up and is not providing a stable connection. There are dozens of reasons why not to plug a $400 device into a $3 socket.

Use power off your computer. (search for instructions) Test it out on a cold morning by using some alligator clips (or something) to connect a wire to the cig lighter adapter on your xenarc. If that works, clip the sucker off and hard wire it.

that won't work for me... I'm using a laptop that has a be-headed monitor, running off an True Sine Inverter..... I could easily get rid of the connector and hard wire it... My cig connector is behind the dash cause I needed the real-estate for a custom mount HU location...

but I will give that a try when I have a chance... I didn't think of the metal shrinking... but that does happen..
