Display Driver - Lilliput 8" + Commell - 800x480
Hi folks, I've been trawling this forum for aaages, so the ones rolling there eyes thinking "god, not another 800x480 thread" can stop right there!
Problem that needs our collective brainpower is:
Lilliput 8" 16:9 889GL-80NP/C/T
http://www.lilliput.cn/889GL-80NP.html
Commell LV-677
http://www.cartft.com/catalog/item/?wm_item_id=696
I want them to marry and have kids, 800x480 kids!
I have tried the standard drivers that came with the motherboard, have also tried the drivers suggested on the carTFT page, not working either!
Soooo, where on gods sweet earth can I get hold of a driver that will work, any ideas people?

I have the 889GL, and I can't get it to work on 800x480 with ANY video card.
I have tried 1 ati video cards, 2 nvidia ones, and on Dell generic (I think its intel). No luck at all running 800x480. I'v tried powerstrip, different drivers, different powerstrip settings. I have tried the suggested settings mady by on Xenarcs website and many others here.
Seems like no one has a Lilliput that displays 800x480 correctly.

it is 800x480 native, but its impossible to make it run at its own native res.

Righteo, so now I am going to find a quite courner to cry in You'll telling me that with all the other posts and feedback on Lilliput's 800*480 issues that this "new" monitor still has the same issues!? Why are people buying Lilliputs if you cant even display the native resolution? And equally, why the hell hasnt Lilliput pulled their finger out and sorted this issue?
And MORE importantly why the hell did I buy a monitor that cant even display its native resolution!! If I wanted something that displayed in "squished screen" I would have bought some cheap arsed piece of crap, or maybe that's what I did?
Man, I guess it all boils down to research doesnt it!

yes it annoys me also. the lack of support from lilliput doesn't help either.

yeah it usually does boil down to research....
It is 800x480 native resolution...
if you are running windows try this:
under display properties go to settings and hit advanced.
Under this window go to adapter and the bottom theres a cool little button that says "list all modes..." Try looking there for 800x480 and give that a shot
A laptop i had did support that resolution, but if you are using an old video card... dont count on it being there.
Good luck with the research...

Oh cummon Lilliput, just be yourself!
The drivers I downloaded from CarTFT allow me to select 800*480, but Lilliput just does not display it, it gets the 480 bit right but the width is cut-off on the right and the whole thing pushed to the left, so no amount of re-positioning will work.
One thing I didnt try was the secret "list all modes" button using the original drivers that came with the motherboard, but i'm guessing it would not have native support of 800x480 or someone on here would have said.
Looks ok on 8x6 with centrafuse running, just a shame its not as crisp as it should be.
Now, the install...

Not sure what that means....
Its a shame the CarTFT doesnt display right... is there something close like 768x480 or something? Maybe that fits right.

I mean to say most users here use the Xenarc 7" wide screen, which runs 800x460 resolution as Xenarc has posted a solution for it. However this solution does not apply to the Lilliput screens.
Few ppl here use 8" widescreen (don't confuse this with regular 8" screen that are 4:3 ratio with a native resolution of 800x600) to have this problem widely discussed, also there isn't any other manufacturer that sells 8" widescreens for us to test out if they too can't run there native resolution of 800x480.
Stompit, i'd personally contact CarTFT regarding this matter, Lilliput did not respond to ANY of my numerous e-mails regarding this issue. Call CarTFT and tell them u have a problem with the lillput not being able to run at its native resolution, the dealer (CarTFT) should have direct contact with Lilliput so we can get an answer to this issue.
i'm assuming you bought the lilliput screen from CarTFT.

I think the solution to this is to get the LinITX 8" widescreen controller, taht will solve the issue. but who sells controllers alone?

why would changing the controller solve the problem? the native resoltion is dictated directly with the LCD.
Is there a driver that works with the LinITX board? if so then the same driver might work for the lilli....
