Lilliput and SVGA and Laptop
I a lilliput 629 and a dell inspiron 4150.
i bought svga 16' extention and it works perfectly fine on my hp dv2000t and my compaq r3000t. However, it does not work with my inspiron 4150. it gives me the error "out of range" and there was a blue screen. i did a search and read to try different refresh rates. at first i tried 800x600@75hz and this still gave me the "out of range" notice but the blue screen was gone. also when i would switch to different modes (av1, av2 and then back to pc) it would say out of range again but sort of blown up and not centered. also, the blue screen did not appear... it was sort of a cloudy or black screen with the backlight on.
it was working fine without the svga extention cable (worked fine with the provided cable from lilliput) before but stupid me never tested it with the svga extention. the laptop currently has no lcd so it is just the bottom portion. (i messed up the ribbon cable on the lcd but i bought a replacement) in order for me to setup the settings on the 4150 i need to hook it up to a monitor. i remember when i first hooked it up it was all weird. it was almost as if the picture was too big for the monitor. i would have to scroll down in order to see the other portion of the picture. (i know kind of confusing but picture not seeing the start menu taskbar but when u move the cursor all the way down the screen moves up and shows the taskbar (this happened in all directions)
Did this mess up the settings of the laptop resolution? could this be what caused my lilliput to display the "out of range" message?
after i changed it to 800x600@75hz, i plugged it back into the monitor that i have been using to setup the laptop and no image came up. i think the resolution isnt being accepted by the monitor or something.
this is all really confusing to me, hoping someone can clear up a few things for me.
