I'll buy one of these.

By the way, found any prices?

The problem is not the speed, but the power of backlight.
It consumes approx. 5W (dimmest notebook displays) that is 1A, while the USB allows just 0.5A
You need extra wiring, so you loose the simplicity of USB connection.

Perhaps it is possible in the case of extreme small TFTs (like in cell phones) with LED backlight.

Did you read the fine print at the bottom of that page? They won't sell you just the card, you have to buy their panel as well.
Apollo is expensive as hell, and they are assholes too.

Wrong. A 5w inverter draws less than 500 milliamps @ 12v dc. All 3 models shown have a seperate 12v dc input. Inverter power is 12v

I have just referred to the IDEA, not THAT certain solution.
You need a converter card, regardless the source.
BTW an lvds module for M10000 is simplier, smaller and likely cheaper.

Not to mention the speed (not the speed of usb2.0!). The USB is a general one (for that purpose it needs a program that consumes proc. time), since video cards has electronic developed especially for displaying (outputs for CRT, DVI, LVDS, LCD, TV).

Ok, so if I get it right it should be like this.

1) You will need a USB-wire plus a 12V constant wire (mayby even a ground )
2) Need to take of a display from the (like said here) expensive appolo
3) their range of tft/lcd screens won't fit a carpc (like they sell 6,5 inch and 10,4 inch, nothing between)

Does it make any sense? And does it look usefull from this point of view?
