Brightness!!! Holy Cow. If this can compete with the price of the transflective, we may be getting more options!

But the resolution is VGA...
Maybe a PSOne screen hack would work on this too!

Nice! Button-less operation for easy DIY projects! Hopefully they'll have the digitizer option available.

So the characters '7-inch wide VGA TFT-LCD' don't show up in Texas?

It is blocked by their local ISP's.

if it's just the raw LCD, it's going to be difficult to mold in or mold to though.
Perhaps the final version at least has an enclosure.

Well seeing as a lot of us end up taking the bare LCD and controller boards out of their case anyway, I think it will help remove a step.

If this is a standard size, then a lilli enclosure or something could probably be modded pretty cheaply. The overall "active area" dimensions look rather promising.

right - but most people still use the bezel to mold to.
It's a bit difficult to mold to nothing..

Seeking a test version 8"
We've contacted LG-Phillips a few weeks ago to try to get a test version of this unit fitted as a touch screen with a VGA compatible input.
They responded initially and advised us that they would have to modify the unit for touchscreen operation. LG does produce these for others as a OEM, but does not sell one themselves. I'm guessing that Mirco/Ford will lock up the entire output; but that's just a wild guess. I'm hoping to be able to test something soon.
This link provides their a small glimpse of ther future thinking.
