LCD flickers, cuts off. Turn off/on, flickers, cuts off.

Any ideas? The touchscreen still works fine. I can change songs in Roadrunner by sliding my finger. The time the LCD stays on varies. Sometimes itll stay on a minute or so, other times less than 4 seconds. It just started to do this yesterday. I figure it shouldnt be much as the screen shows clear and colorful the small amount of time it is on. If theres something I need to replace fine, just need to know what lol.

And yes, I did search but didnt get much. Maybe I searched for the wrong string of words.

Thanks everyone

How are you powering the LCD and have you tried using it indoors on your home computer with the AC adpater?

I was powering mine via the powersupply. Opus 120

Found my problem. It was the type of screen I was buying. The seller agreed. Really great seller, just a bad screen. The seller offered me my money back minus shipping, so its not all bad. I will say though, the fold mechanism on the VMI70A is the best ive seen. Too bad the screen dies If they would fix the screen issue, Id buy another one in a heartbeat.

I've tried mine in my house connected to a pc power supply by itself. It stayed on for almost 2 hours in the house after I removed it from the car, but it died again, and the backlight just cuts off after a second or two again if I turn off the power and turn it back on.

no expert, but i'd say its most likely a knackered capacitor.

Same here

I have the same problem with my 7"lilliput connected to a p2140 or p1900 so it must be in the monitor. When the monitor has input from the pc it stays on. But when I start both monitor and pc at the same time it shuts down after 2-3 secs. When I reaply power to the screen it stays on when it has input. Seems like there is a signal going thru the vga cable?
