Hi my screen was working fine (using onboard graphics btw) and then i closed and opened it and all i got were coloured lines... i was told this was because the scree nwas trying to set the resolution.. it's currently set to 800x600 in windows but i cant seem to get it working!

Have you checked your voltage by chance? Also, have you tried disconnecting your screen and reconnecting it? Also, rebooting has helped in the past.

I've experienced the same thing in my car, but only when voltage was low.
