There's not enough posts between the three of you to make Low Bitrate, which explains a lot.
I would advise against Vista in the car for at least six months. Driver incompatibilites, bugs (some of which haven't been found yet!), unknown tweakability, software incompatibilities (particularly frontends!)....
To be honest, if there's not a Vista driver for X piece of hardware, that should tell you right there that it's not viable for your install yet...
