Yes that is true.
Maybe I mis-expressed myself.
The reason it works in a Sharp Zaurus is that they have the same processor type.
The TomTom software will not run on a i386-compatible system as it's not compiled for that.
If you would have the source of the TomTom application you could probably compile it for a i386 type processor without too much trouble.
But because we do not have the source code, the software can only be run on compatible processors, or you can run the software through an emulator...
BTW: Are there any PDA emulators for Linux?
