Thinking about using linux

So i have been looking at using linux, mostly because its free and i dont want to spend 100 bucks on XP, are there any downfalls to using it? Will i have any issues with my lilliput touchscreen? What kind of front ends are you guys running? I recently purchased microsoft streets and tips GPS, is it compatible with linux? Any input would be great.

You shouldn't have trouble with your touchscreen, but if you do, you should be prepared to get your hands dirty in a config file or two. I haven't heard whether MS streets and tips GPS will work in Linux. My guess would be not.

As for frontends, nGhost2 is around the corner. Check out it and LinuxICE.

The learning curve.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Are you prepared to dig into linux config files if it doesn't?

No.
